We are the founding team that previously built Bench Accounting from an idea to a successful business with >$100M raised and >600 employees, and Teal (acquired by Mercury). We're back in the SMB accounting space, this time working on a bigger idea with even greater potential.
Synthetic is brand new as of November 2025. We're a four person team so far. We have early customers and a working product. We're seeking someone smart and hungry to join up as our first business hire. We are building in San Francisco. We work 6 days a week in person to make our product a reality.
This role combines both internal business functions (day-to-day finance leadership, HR, legal, etc.) and a unique role influencing the design of our accounting product and quality checking the client-facing work of our AI bookkeeper.

FP&A or startup finance & forecasting experience.
Early stage business experience (<20 people).

$225-300k USD salary
