Job Description Summary
As the Supplier Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for leading a global based Supplier Management team within a business, including both supplier capability and quality responsibilities across supplier development, and monitoring activities. You will be responsible for the Supplier Management activities within specified GE Manufacturing facility and assigned suppliers ownership related to PCBs (Electronic Boards). This position works closely with Sourcing, Procurement, Project Quality (Assurance and Control) and Engineering to deliver quality products to our customers with a total cost mindset.

As an SQE, your role will evolve with various levels of differentiation based on your technical acumen with engineering drawings and your prowess in vendor management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Disciplinary Mastery: Develop an in-depth knowledge of your chosen discipline, leveraging your prior experience and acquired expertise to execute functional policies and strategies.
- Problem-Solving Prowess: Utilize your technical expertise and judgment to tackle challenges, employing analytic thinking and drawing on multiple internal sources to arrive at optimal solutions.
- Strategic Leadership: Lead the development and execution of short and mid-term Supplier Management strategies that provide a competitive edge, in collaboration with Sourcing, Operations, Quality, and Engineering teams.
- QMS & Compliance: Ensure the execution of Quality Management System (QMS) and Compliance requirements associated with Supplier Quality Management, including supplier QMS, Process, Capability, and development plans.
- Supplier Improvement: Drive supplier improvements through Root Cause Analysis (RCA), process or product qualification, and manage the Supplier Deviation Request (SDR) Process. Oversee the registration, monitoring, and management of Cost of Poor Quality (CoPQ) Recovery.
- Process Innovation: Support the digitization and simplification of Supplier Management processes, enhancing management and employee communication, policy recommendations, and performance dashboards.
- Metrics Management: Be accountable for key Supplier Management metrics, ensuring we maintain our standards of excellence.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, preferably Electrical Engineering with a focus on electronics.
- Training or accreditation in IPC-A-610.
- Significant experience in Supplier Quality, Supply Chain, Engineering, or Quality Management.
- Experience in Control Cubicle Wiring, PCB Manufacture and Quality, Wiring Standards, Crimping, and Harness Assembly.
- Fluency in English (both spoken and written); additional languages are a plus.
- Outstanding leadership skills with a demonstrated ability in cross-functional teamwork and understanding of business and supplier impact factors.
- Strong influence and communication skills to establish good relationships and drive continuous improvement across functional and global boundaries.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 30% of the time.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
Desired Characteristics:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (industrial, electrical, electronics).
- Experience in Supplier Quality and/or Quality activities with expertise across technical areas, program management, compliance/general product quality areas, and process knowledge aligned with the engineered equipment industry.
- Proven leadership in driving results and process improvements, including strong Change Acceleration Process skills.
- Quality experience with a focus on customer experience as the primary driver.
- Robust Lean experience and a continuous improvement mindset, adept at simplifying processes and eliminating waste.
