Job purpose

Reporting to the National Sales Manager – Heavy Duty, the Regional Sales Manager is responsible for managing and growing our book of business across a large geographical region. This role is critical for building and maintaining relationships with key clients, warehouse distributors and dealers, while driving the adoption and sales of our heavy duty product categories. The ideal candidate will be an experienced sales professional with a deep understanding of the commercial vehicle / heavy-duty industry, a passion for innovation, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive the sales of heavy-duty products within a designated region.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through strategic prospecting, networking, and cold calling.
  • Identify opportunities for additional product coverage.
  • Expand market share by establishing new dealer/customer relationships and strengthening existing ones.
  • Work closely with existing customers to drive sales growth, exceed revenue budgets and provide solutions tailored to their needs.
  • Collaborate with other team members on issues that reach outside your geographic area.
  • Serve as the main point of contact between PHINIA and regional customers.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers at dealerships, service centers, warehouse distributors, and other distribution partners.
  • Create comprehensive and customized business plans for key accounts throughout the region.
  • Address customer concerns, provide product expertise, and offer technical support to enhance the customer experience.
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activities and customer feedback to adapt and refine sales strategies.
  • Regularly report on sales progress, forecasting and performance metrics to upper management.
  • Provide valuable insights into customer needs and preferences to guide product development and marketing efforts.
  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of the company’s products, features, and benefits.
  • Train and educate dealers and customers on product features, selling points, and best practices.
  • Ensure all product information is accurately communicated to stakeholders and is up to date with any new developments.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy tailored to the specific dynamics of the region.
  • Manage and optimize resources effectively to cover the geographic area, ensuring all territories are adequately serviced.
  • Attend trade shows, industry events, and meetings to promote brand presence and network with key industry players.

What we’re looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or a related field (preferred), or equivalent industry experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in commercial vehicle industry parts sales, preferably in a manufacturer’s representative or distributor role.
  • Proven success in managing large territories working with independent heavy duty distributors and OES truck dealer accounts.
  • Strong understanding of industry trends, products, and technologies.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Must be able to efficiently use MS office programs, especially Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote, field-based environment.
  • Familiarity with CRM tools (Salesforce) and sales reporting software.
  • Willingness to travel frequently (up to 60% of the time) within the assigned region.
