About the Role:
Please note: This is not a live vacancy. We're using this opportunity to proactively build our talent pools for future roles. By expressing interest, you're agreeing that we may contact you if and when a suitable opportunity arises that aligns with your experience and skill set. We appreciate your interest and look forward to potentially connecting when the right role becomes available.
Based in central London.

We have a really exciting opportunity for a highly experienced girlswear/older girls designer to join the Fashion Brands team at Next, where we design and manufacture the Childrenswear collections for brands such as Paul Smith, Ted Baker, Little Bird, Superdry and smALLSAINTS.

From researching the latest trends and presenting concepts you’ll work hard to produce elevated designs that reflect the brands 'DNA' and handwriting.

This would be a fantastic opportunity for an experienced, self motivated designer who has experience working at pace with premium brands, across different supply bases and product categories.

The role would suit a candidate from a Childrenswear, Womenswear or Teen design background. Experience with 3D/AI design would be advantageous but not essential. Building successful team relationships, instilling confidence and trust in our partnerships is key to the success of the department and we hope this could be you!
We are ideally looking for a Designer who has proven experience of managing within a team. This role will have direct reports and this will develop as the team grows.

You will be working with a like minded and creative team who have a real passion for product and  a shared goal to push the brands forward, collaborating to innovate and bring your ideas and designs to life ensuring they align with the brands handwriting, current market trends and our customers needs.

About You:
You’ll work closely with the team and alongside our partner brands to create contemporary and commercial designs for our younger and older girls/teen category.

You’ll have an exceptional eye for detail, a high level of product finesse and elevation, and strong commercial awareness. You’ll thrive in a fast-paced environment and possess a genuine passion for driving newness and innovation within our girlswear ranges, excelling at identifying and translating new and emerging trends into commercial designs both short and long lead time. A proven track record and extensive experience designing dresses and co-ord sets across woven/jersey categories is essential, alongside experience across other multi-product areas.

Sponsorship
Candidates wishing to apply who would require sponsorship for this role will be required to meet the Home Office sponsorship requirements. For further information please see: https://www.gov.uk/skilled-worker-visa.

We encourage early applications for our roles, as our recruitment process begins as soon as the role is advertised. If we successfully fill the position, this advert may close earlier than planned.
