In 2021, Costello Medical launched its own in-house Technical Development (TechDev) team. Since then, our talented team has created and developed innovative products and services that enrich our internal workforce and deliver exceptional value to our external clients. Blending the power of software development, automation, and research, the TechDev team spearheads technological innovation, streamlines client project outcomes, and enhances internal efficiencies across the company.
As the team continues to grow in size and capability, we are seeking a motivated and ambitious Technical Assistant to support with a range of technical and administrative tasks that improve our internal processes and client deliverables, including bug testing, utilising a variety of software tools, producing guidance documents for a variety of audiences, as well as encouraging further innovation and idea generation across the entire workforce.
We recognise that many aspects of this role can be supported by AI tools, making it well-suited to individuals with an interest in these technologies and who can leverage them proficiently. You will have the opportunity to work with Copilot Studio, Power Apps, and other emerging AI-driven solutions, extending beyond traditional low-code solutions like Budibase or VBA to drive our work forward.

At Costello Medical, our technology-driven solutions leverage industry-standard tools. On the back end, we primarily utilise Node.js and Go for performance-critical services, while Python is employed for AI and machine learning solutions. Our front-end is powered by Angular, which enables the creation of dynamic and responsive user interfaces. Our infrastructure, orchestrated with Kubernetes and Docker, ensures scalability across AWS and DigitalOcean cloud platforms. We also build macros and internal tools using Budibase, a low-code platform, to support our scientific teams.
While prior experience with these technologies is a plus, joining our TechDev team means you'll have access to comprehensive training and support. We're committed to equipping you with the knowledge and skills needed to excel within this role.

Therefore, we offer flexible working arrangements that allow our colleagues who have passed probation to work from home up to half their time, measured across a 2-week rolling period. During your probationary period (normally the first 6 months of the role), you will be able to work from home 1 day per week.

The Application ProcessYou are required to submit your CV and a cover letter via our online application form. In your cover letter, you must explain why you think you would be suited to the role and why you would like to join Costello Medical, with examples to support both.
Next, you will be invited to submit a self-recorded video interview via our online platform, followed by an assessment for you to complete in your own time. If successful, you will proceed to an assessment review with members of our TechDev team.
